sustainability and values
We want fashion to stop destroying the world, and with you, to become part of the solution. 🌿
Each Fitplanet garment is a tool to care for the planet, respect the people who work on it, and protect marine life.
We explain everything here 💚
1. Who are we behind it?
We are Paula and Esterri.
We don't come from the world of fashion, we come from the sea. 🌊
We started by collecting plastics on the beach, without imagining that one day they would become the clothes you are wearing today.
Since then, every decision we make stems from the same question:
👉 Does this help take care of the planet or not?
2. How do we do it?
♻️ We transform ocean waste into useful and durable clothing
Our technical clothing —bikinis, swimsuits, leggings…— is made with recycled plastic from the Mediterranean : bottles and fishing nets that we collect, clean and turn into high-quality fabrics.
This is how we reduce waste and avoid using new oil. 🌊
For non-technical garments, we prefer organic and biodegradable materials , as is the case with our underwear or the Essential collection, made with cotton and natural fibers. 🌱
Because the decision is simple:
👉 If the product needs to dry quickly, be elastic, or have high support to withstand your workouts and activities, we use recycled polyester or nylon .
👉 For everyday use, when your skin and comfort are paramount, we choose organic cotton or seaweed fibers , which care for you and the planet at the same time. 💚
🎥 You can watch the video here where we show how a sea bottle is transformed into a garment you can wear →
3. Where do we manufacture?
✂️ We produce locally, with care and under fair conditions
We work with family workshops in Spain and Portugal , where we support the local economy , are committed to production with fair working conditions , and personally know the people who make each garment.
🎥 In this video, Esterri shows you the workshop where we make bikinis, swimsuits, men's trousers, and t-shirts, and you meet the women who sew them with so much love. 👇
🗺️ And here you can see where all our garments are manufactured:
4. We provide direct support to those who care for the sea
In addition to producing sustainable clothing, we donate 10% of the profits from each garment to marine projects . To date, we have already donated over €29,900 thanks to your purchases.
But we don't just donate money:
We visit NGOs and give them visibility because we believe it's important to know those who are there, protecting the ocean every day.
🐢 We've created a specific section on the website so you can see the organizations we collaborate with and those you support with your purchase in the MARINE NGOs section.
🎥 Here are some of the visits we've made to these NGOs :
🐢 Visit to Xaloc.
The NGO that protects turtle nests in the Valencian Community. We collaborate with them on all "turtle" products.
🦈 Visit to Sharkmed (Mallorca)
We went to see firsthand the work done by the NGO to which we donate funds to protect the sharks of the Mediterranean.
🌱 Visit to Rascarey (Costa Rica)
We went to Costa Rica to help the NGO RASCAREY and we managed to donate €2,000 to their sea turtle conservation project with the Be The Change collection.
5. Environmental education
We believe that change begins with understanding what is happening .
That's why, in addition to creating sustainable clothing, we give talks in schools, organize waste collections, and share educational content so that more people can learn to reduce their impact.
If we want to change the future, we have to start from the beginning.
That's why we organize talks and waste collections with schools, to talk directly to children about what's happening: plastic in the sea, the impact of fashion, and how we can do better.
We believe that environmental education is the foundation of all change , and that raising awareness from a young age is the most transformative thing we can do as a brand.
🌊 We also organize beach cleanups with volunteers from the Fitplanet community, and create useful content about sustainability that we share on social media and as free downloads.
Because we believe that everyone has the power to do something.
And that information is the first step to being able to choose.
